Wifi can see you breathing through walls and this might make some people paranoid and rightfully so. Basically all it takes is for a hacker or government agent to access your WiFi router and see everything you do. I’m not just talking browser history. We live in a world where courts can ignore evidence on technicalities (elections). Searches are conducted without warrants and loved ones are now informants. We live in a world of neighborhood watches and gangstalking. We’ve been trained to “say something if you see something” (since 9/11). The pandemic has created a world of snitches. Just about every government surveillance function that can be outsourced to private third parties has been and the list continues to grow as technology advances and as government seeks ever more creative ways to elude the constitution it is supposed to adhere to.

What concerns me are scientists always creating something for the “greater good.” They never stop to think how technology can be misused. They always assume that government and its various over-seeing institutions are both benevolent and competent. I’m afraid we no longer live in a world where police uphold the law of the land. Some laws are actually illegal.
